BGDi CREATES ID SYSTEM FOR FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK OF SAN FRANCISCO

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - February 23, 2003 - The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco has rolled out a new identity and literature system produced by BGDi. The new brand program is the result of BGDi's focused, 6-month process of discovery and creative effort.

This identity was developed as an alternative to the existing corporate identity. There was a critical need for a simple, compact, very legible mark that could be used in a great variety of situations‹wherever simple, strong visual identification is needed.

The FHLB of SF literature system will enhance the Bank's ability communicate its offerings creatively and consistently. The Literature System is designed to deliver a strong, consistent marketing presence for different Bank initiatives in the banking community.

" We wanted to encourage creative solutions" said BGDi President Steven Donaldson, "but within a framework that preserves the continuity of the Bank's image."

To tie all the communications together, BGDi developed the "Grid." ­the foundation of the system­providing a consistent "look and feel.". The Grid divides the layout into an upper section reserved for title and graphics/images, and a lower band containing the identity.

BGDi developed a master palette of corporate colors and color sub-palettes to serve the needs of various Bank departments.

The system is currently being implemented as new communications are created, and the new identity is bringing increased visibility to the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.
